This first edition book, Dave Dawson with the Air Corps, is from a War Adventure Series written by Robert Sidney Bowen Jr (1900 – 1977) who was a World War I aviator, newspaper journalist, magazine editor and author.

In this book, little do Dave Dawson and Freddy Farmer suspect as they sit dining in London’s Savoy Hotel with Soo Wong Kai of the Chinese Embassy, that this meeting will lead to a mission that will take them fully halfway round the world, with danger dogging every inch of their trail. First their plane is downed in mid-Atlantic, and they are captured by enemy agents. Across America in safety – but the Pacific Ocean flight is a different story. At last in China, they join the glorious Flying Tigers. But even on the very steps of Generalissimo Chiang Kai-shek’s headquarters in Chungking, Japanese bullets whizz about their heads.

This book is covered in brown cloth with black lettering and pictoral. It is in very good condition. The dust jacket is worn on the edges. It measures 8 ¼” x 4 ¼” x 1 1/8”. The binding is solid with no loose pages. It was published by The Saalfield Publishing Company – 1943. This book would be a great addition to your collection.
